Clarinspect at the New Zealand Fire Conference 2025

The Clarinspect team flew to Auckland for the New Zealand Fire Conference 2025, and once again it proved to be a standout event for the fire protection industry.

Held at the stunning Viaduct, the conference brought together fire protection professionals from across the country. Between the impressive coffee, great conversations, and a packed programme, it was a valuable few days for reconnecting with clients and engaging with the wider industry.

Catching Up with Clients from Across New Zealand

One of the highlights was catching up with so many FireQA clients in one place. It was great to see teams from The Connect Group, Argest, Nelligans, Advanced Applicators, Carboline, FES, Iconiq and FireGuard, among others.

These conversations gave us the chance to showcase new FireQA features and, more importantly, hear directly from users about what’s working well and where they want things to go next.

Improving Passive Fire Registers for Real-World Use

A key topic that came up again and again was passive fire registers. Many teams told us their registers had grown very large over time, making them harder for councils and building owners to work through efficiently.

In response, we demonstrated one of our newer enhancements: extra-compact individual as-built records, and a soon to be released compact fire register. These allow teams to present clear, compliant documentation without unnecessary bulk - and the response was extremely positive.

It’s a great example of how FireQA continues to evolve based on direct industry feedback.

Honest Conversations About the Market

There was also plenty of honest discussion about the current market. Many clients noted that 2025 has been a challenging year, reflecting broader economic conditions. Encouragingly, though, there was strong agreement that new projects are starting to move again, with 2026 shaping up to be a much stronger year across the sector.

Smart-Fills: Helping Installations Get It Right the First Time

We also spent time with suppliers, showing them FireQA’s Smart-Fills feature. This has been designed to ensure products are recorded and installed correctly every time.

With Smart-Fills:

- Technicians select the product being used

- Key fields are automatically pre-populated

- Tested system images are included

- Installation accuracy is improved from the outset

It’s a practical improvement that reduces errors, speeds up inspections, and gives greater confidence in compliance records. This will be especially useful for our passive fire install system.

Product Showcase Presentation

A highlight of the conference was Hana Jones’ presentation in the Product Showcase room. The session attracted a highly engaged audience and sparked some excellent follow-up conversations, reinforcing the strong interest in smarter, more practical fire inspection and QA tools. Fire Engineers were impressed out the marked up plans in Construction Monitoring.

A Great Gala Night and Looking Ahead

The gala night rounded things off perfectly, with a great atmosphere and some very happy award winners celebrating well-earned achievements across the industry.

Events like the New Zealand Fire Conference are invaluable for staying connected, listening to real challenges, and continuing to refine FireQA to support passive fire teams, engineers, and inspectors across New Zealand.
